Patient Violence Reporting Working Group

Public Act No. 26-12 There is established a working group to study the feasibility and considerations necessary to implement a system (1) for health care providers with an electronic health records system capable of connecting to and participating in the State-wide Health Information Exchange, as specified in section 17b-59e of the general statutes, to report to said exchange incidences of patient violence directed at a health care provider, and (2) that alerts a health care provider with such electronic health records system when the provider accepts a new patient or has a scheduled visit with an existing patient who has a documented history of any such incidence.
